Help Wanted - I have sent John some photos which I have asked him to put on the site. I was lucky enough to be posted to 18 Amph squadron twice. The second time I arrived just as the Squadron was disbanding and all the DUKWs were being sent to Marchwood. I however, was sent with the HQ section to Lisburn, Northern Ireland. There we joined with 26 Squadron, which subsequently became known as 18/26 Squadron. To cut a long story short, all the Squadron possessions went with us. The Regimental Silver, office equipment etc. The silver was taken into care by the Officers Mess at HQ Lisburn Garrison!! Amongst the other items which were going to be disposed of, was a partially completed, hand made, model DUKW. I managed to obtain this model with a view to fininshing it off when I retired. {Nearly at this point!} Inside I found a label with the name of the lad who had made it. Does anyone remember either the model or the person who made it? I'm just curious, as I would like to know its provenence.
